Governor Biodun Oyebanji has called his re-election for a second term a “renewed mandate to serve,” promising to lead Ekiti with humility, compassion, and reverence for God.

Speaking minutes after INEC declared him winner of Saturday’s governorship poll, Oyebanji thanked Ekiti voters for their trust. He said the landslide victory came with heavier responsibility, not celebration.

“I fully understand what this victory means. It’s not power, it’s service. Service to every son and daughter of Ekiti,” the governor said. “We’ll keep serving with courage, compassion, humility, and the fear of God.”

Oyebanji told residents to expect even stronger performance in his next four years. He said the fresh mandate would push his administration to work harder on the issues that matter most to citizens across all 16 LGAs.

On his second-term plans, the governor said his government’s development blueprint remains intact. But he added that his team will also adapt to new challenges and emerging priorities.

“We have a clear development guide and we’ll stick to it faithfully. At the same time, if new issues come up, we’ll review and act on them,” he explained. “Our goal is simple: full implementation of our agenda for the good of all Ekiti people.”

With the election now settled, all eyes are on how Oyebanji’s “service-first” approach will shape Ekiti’s next chapter.
